Girls Club Golf
Girls golf will begin on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 9:00 am, with a meeting in the James Madison High School library. All those wanting to participate are asked to email coach Andy Margolis at Acmargolis@fcps.edu, prior to August 1, 2017. The purpose of the meeting is to inform you of basic goals, practice schedule, golf tournaments, golf matches, and general concerns you may have about Girls Golf. You do not need to have prior golf experience to be involved in Girls Golf, only a desire to learn and participate in all aspects of the fall golf season.
In order to participate on a weekly basis, you will need your own set of golf clubs and golf shoes. You will also need to supply your own golf balls, golf tees, ball marker, and ball repairer. Proper dress is required for practice, matches, and tournaments, a collard shirt, golf shorts, or long pants (no jeans or jean shorts, sweat pants or the such). Girls Golf is a club sport, and in order to fund our matches and tournaments, each player is required to pay $100.00 dues. payable by check to James Madison Girls Golf Club. at the Tuesday, August 1, 2017 meeting.
Below you will see a list of requirements to be completed prior to the meeting. The five documents/forms listed below should be completed and returned to the JMHS Athletic Training Program via a mailbox in the front office at JMHS, or turned in to the JMHS Athletic Office, prior the the August 1, meeting. You should keep a copy for your own records and bring an additional copy with you at the meeting. Failure to comply with or meet any of the five requirements below will prevent you from beginning golf practices later that first week.
Paperwork Required for Participation:
1. you must have a physical completed after May 1, 2017. The required physical form , and all other forms, can be found on the JMHS Athletic website.No other physical form will be accepted. Make sure all lines and signatures are completed, including insurance information.
2.You must have a completed Emergency Care Form to turn in at the first day meeting.
3.You must complete the Athletic Concussion Education Program.http://www.fcps.edu/sports.
4.A parent or guardian must complete the parent/guardian Concussion Education Program. http://www.fcps.edu/sports .
5.You must complete the current Participation Policy Form and should be brought with to the first day meeting.
