CoEd Varsity Golf
Tryouts for the 2018 coed varsity golf season will span THREE DAYS (July 30th, 31st and August 1st).
Golfers are expected to attend all three days of tryouts. Golfers are responsible for providing their own clubs and must wear golf course appropriate shirt and slacks or shorts (no cargo shorts/pants).
Pleasant Valley Golf Club (http://www.pleasantvalleygc.com/) will be the host course for our tryouts on July 30th and 31st. Each day of tryouts golfers will be responsible for paying Pleasant Valley $40. The cost of $40 will include your round of golf and a small bucket of range balls. Golfers will need to carry their bags at Pleasant Valley, no pull/push carts or golf carts will be permitted. Tee times will be starting at 10am both days.
Please arrive no later 1 hour prior to the 1st scheduled tee time so we will have an opportunity to make sure your paperwork is in order and we can go over the rules that will govern tryouts. It is expected that each golfer has an understanding of the USGA Rules of Golf.
The location for the third day of tryouts (August 1st) has not yet been determined. This information should be available by the middle of May.
If you wish to tryout please contact Assistant Coach Rauenzahn by email: firstname.lastname@example.org prior to July 20th. We will not guarantee your spot at tryouts if you do not contact Coach Rauenzahn before July 20th. Continue to check the website for announcements and updates related to tryouts. Any golfer who is planning on trying out must provide all required information and documents to JMHS as soon as possible. You must bring and turn in an emergency care card to the coaches the first day of tryouts.
Below you will see a list of requirements to be completed prior to tryouts. The documents/forms/education listed below should be completed and returned to Shelly Anderson in the activities office. If you are submitting your documents over the summer please contact the school to confirm hours of operation.
It is always recommended that you KEEP A COPY OF EACH DOCUMENT FOR YOUR OWN RECORDS and bring an additional copy with you on the first day of tryouts just in case something gets lost. Failure to comply with or meet any of the requirements below will prevent you from trying out. The sooner you contact Coach Rauenzahn the sooner you can secure your tryout spot. Please do not call regarding tryouts or if you have questions. The best way to contact Coach Rauenzahn is by emailing him at email@example.com. If you require a conversation with Coach Smith or Coach Rauenzahn please email your contact information to the coaches and one of us will contact you by phone.
Paperwork Required for Tryouts (all forms/documents must be completed AFTER May 1st 2018):

1. You must have a physical completed after May 1st 2018. The only physical form that will be accepted is the VHSL – Revised February 2017 form (link provided below). No other physical forms will be accepted. Make sure all lines and signatures on this form are completed, including insurance company name. If you want to support the JMHS Athletic Training Program they will be hosting their annual JMHS Physical night on May 21st.

2. You must have a completed Emergency Care Form to turn in on the first day before you may start tryouts.
3. Each golfer must complete the Athlete Concussion Education Program. You can find the link for this program below.
